SPRING 2018 PRODUCTION AUDITIONS, January 20th
SPRING PRODUCTION CALL BACKS: January 21st
SPRING CLASSES BEGIN January 29th
For audition questions, please call the Academy office: 405/524-9310 x100
General audition requirements:
There are some things young actors can have on hand for any Academy audition, and it’s always good to prepare early!
An 8x10 headshot. Don’t have a headshot? A school photo will work (be sure to add your name) or join us at the headshot workshop on December 9!
A resume’ of all your performances and training. Be sure to list all the productions, dance recitals, and plays you have been in. For dance training, include the name of the studio where you took lessons, the type of dance classes you took, and how many years you took each style. Include any voice lessons, choir experience, and theatre/drama classes you have had.
A one-minute audition song, ready to go! That means you will need legible sheet music for a piano accompanist (no CD tracks or iPod playback will be allowed), so make sure you know and can explain to the accompanist where they should begin playing and where to stop.
Be prepared to receive a monologue or script cutting during your audition and be asked to read it back in your best characterization of the given role.
Can’t make the audition time? Email taped audition to Rozz@LyricTheatreOKC.com. Students must be present at the live audition to be considered for call backs and lead roles.
